Stefan Max Hirniak (born February 5, 1985 in New Brunswick, New Jersey) is a male swimmer from Canada, who mostly competes in the freestyle and butterfly events. He claimed a bronze medal (4x200m freestyle relay) at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Hirniak earned a spot on the 2007 Pan American Games Team by placing second in the 200m butterfly at the 2007 Spring National Championships. He finished second to American Michael Phelps in the 200m butterfly at the 2005 U.S. National Championships, posting the 18th fastest time in the world that year. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi Hirniak won bronze in the 200 m butterfly during the first day of competition.[1]
